Rui Resendes, Bass
Rui started playing bass guitar at the age of 13, about 5 minutes after hearing The Who's "My Generation" for the first time. While listening to and learning from rock bassists such as John Entwistle, Jack Bruce, and Geddy Lee, he started playing the Toronto club circuit in his late teens. In that world, he switched his attention to funk, jazz and R&B, hanging on every booming note that left the fingers of Jaco Pastorius, Stanley Clarke and James Jamerson. While he still enjoys playing rock and blues, you'll hear funk and R&B overtones in all his performances. Now with The Great Unwashed, he is Funking-Up Kingston's "12-Bar-Blues Establishment."
